The first thought entering my head as I start off this article is how is it already August; the second thought is I'm writing this 10 days too late. There is an upside to having started a new job, though. More time to find new music.
So, in the spirit of better-late-than-never and my playlist that seems to get longer by the second, these are my favourite tracks from July.
Bon Bon - Fcukers

I don't know how I've never heard of Fcukers before, or when Americans got good at UKG, but I won't complain.
The whole album is interesting and very refreshing to hear, especially during the summer months. This track makes you want to drop everything and find the nearest party.
Great bassline, catchy lyrics, and makes you forget your responsibilities in life for three minutes and thirty seconds.
Sexy Boy - Air (Vegyn Remix)

This may be one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard and I say that with no exaggeration.
Vegyn surprises me time and time again, and this remix of what could already be considered a masterpiece further proves to me that he may be one of the best producers of this generation.
This track feels like a summer night you hope never ends, or a ray of sunlight coming through your curtains with a breeze on a crisp morning.
Oranges - Alex G

My first time listening to this song was on a packed bus in Nesso, Italy, watching the incredible view of Lake Como. I felt nostalgic for something that hadn't even happened yet.
Alex G will always have a place in my heart as my favourite artist, and his new album Headlights reminded me that his music is one of the few constants I've had through life's changes.
Each album more mature than the other, you feel like you've grown with him.
Shadows - Wagon Christ

This song makes my brain go quiet. It reminds me of bus rides at the window seat when the sun is down and you're reminiscing on a long day.
Slow, soothing vocals wrap around you like a blanket, accompanying the contrasting upbeat instrumental, creating an interesting dynamic between comforting and energizing.
This was my first introduction to Wagon Christ and it left a great impression.
Don't Go - Yung Lean

I don't think I'll ever get bored of Yung Lean (which is why I'm seeing him again in November) but Unknown Memory just keeps giving me new favourites.
This song has a haunting instrumental with hopeful undertones and the power to make you forget whatever you were just thinking about a minute ago - a brief but beautiful escape.
The autotuned, classic Yung lean vocals don't seem like they'd fit, but that's his charm and why I love cloud rap as much as I do.
